University YES Academy is modeled after one of America's most successful urban schools – the YES Prep schools in Houston, Texas.

• YES Prep Houston is rated one of the best public schools in America by Newsweek, U.S. News & World Reports and Houston Chronicle.
• YES Prep has graduated 100% of seniors for nine consecutive years.
• 100% of YES Prep's graduating seniors have been accepted to four-year colleges including Harvard, Yale, Duke, Stanford and Columbia.

Working with administrative members from University Yes Academy, a number of NSBE DAE members and employees of Ford Motor Company participated in town hall meetings along with coordinating tours for University Yes students to visit several colleges & universities in the metro-Detroit area including Wayne State University, Lawrence Tech University, and the University of Michigan.  

For the upcoming school year, NSBE DAE is looking to expand its involvement with the students of University Yes Academy. Areas of involvement include participating in the school's town hall meetings, volunteering as a student tutor, coordinating college tours for students, and volunteering with NSBE Jr. PCI student programming.
